Open Energy Unveils HyperSwap EV Battery Swap Robot at Seoul Mobility Show 2025, Marking a ‘DeepSeek Moment’ in Clean Energy Infrastructure

Seoul, South Korea – April 8th, 2025 – Open Energy proudly showcased its groundbreaking HyperSwap EV battery swap robot, which has been hailed as a transformative ‘DeepSeek moment’ for electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. This recognition echoes sentiments expressed during private discussions at CNBC Converge Live 2025, where industry leaders highlighted HyperSwap’s potential to revolutionize EV charging by offering a more affordable and efficient alternative to traditional fast-charging methods.

This innovative technology, capable of completing battery swaps in under three minutes, represents a significant advancement in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure.

During the event, Open Energy announced strategic partnerships with leading Korean manufacturers and supply chain experts to localize the production of HyperSwap systems. These collaborations aim to enhance the scalability and accessibility of EV battery swapping solutions across Asia.

In a significant development, Open Energy welcomed Solarstic, an advanced solar panel technology company recently spun off from Hyundai, to its booth. Solarstic specializes in integrating high-efficiency solar panels onto the bodies of EVs, enabling vehicles to gain up to 25 kilometers of additional range daily in sunny regions like Singapore. The collaboration between Open Energy and Solarstic focuses on incorporating these cutting-edge solar panels into EVs and the upcoming V2 version of HyperSwap robot stations. This next-generation HyperSwap station is being designed and engineered through a joint effort between Open Energy’s R&D division in Italy and partners in Korea, aiming to enhance the sustainability and energy efficiency of EV infrastructure.

In his keynote address, CEO Tin Hang Liu emphasized the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in HyperSwap’s operations, enhancing safety, efficiency, and adaptability. The full video and transcript of this keynote will be released by the event organizers within the next three weeks.

Open Energy’s innovative approach has garnered significant recognition, including winning the highest tier at the K-Startup Grand Challenge (KSGC). CEO Tin Hang Liu likened the experience to a “Squid Game for tech startups,” highlighting the rigorous selection process and competition organized by the Korean government. The company’s achievements have been featured in prominent publications such as The Korea Times, Forbes Korea, and Fortune Korea.

Open Energy remains committed to advancing sustainable transportation solutions and looks forward to further collaborations that drive the global clean energy transition.
